Steelpan Audio Works undertakes commissioned projects only.

Each Steelpan recording presents its own musical, technical and cultural considerations. Work is scoped carefully to ensure the music, the ensemble, and the intended outcome are properly served.

Engagement

Commissions typically begin with a conversation about the project context. This may include the ensemble, repertoire, intended release or use, and the audiences the work is expected to reach.

From this discussion, an appropriate approach is agreed. This may involve stereo or immersive formats, specific delivery requirements, and coordination with wider production or exhibition plans.

All work is undertaken to professional standards suitable for commercial release, broadcast, cinema exhibition, or long-term archival use.

When Getting In Touch

To help frame the initial discussion, it is useful to include:

  • Name of the Steelband or ensemble

  • Nature of the project (album, single, film, archive, compilation)

  • Current recording status (new recording, existing material, live capture).

  • Intended outcome (digital release, physical media, film, broadcast, archive).

  • Preferred timeframe.

This information supports an informed and proportionate approach from the outset.
